From a bomb shelter classroom to a coding scholarship
About this kid
Sofiia is 14. When the full-scale war reached her town, her school moved into a basement. She kept a notebook in her bag anyway — maths in the morning, English when the generator held. Her mother works nights. Two younger brothers share the room. What she asked for was not a miracle. It was a desk, a light that stayed on, and someone who would not let the year disappear.

She is shy about the scholarship. She will talk about her brothers, about the cat that sleeps on the coats, about the teacher who stayed. The rest she writes down and keeps.
